From recording to finished clips
Start with an interview, a screen recording, or other spoken-word footage. Descript transcribes the media so you can find passages and change the edit through the transcript. Its tools include filler-word and retake removal, Studio Sound for audio cleanup, and captions.
After editing the main piece, you can create shorter clips and share a review link for comments. Screen recording and remote recording also make it possible to capture material within the product rather than always starting with an uploaded file.

Usage and plan constraints
The free plan includes a limited monthly media allowance. Paid plans have different media-hour allowances, AI-credit budgets, and export resolutions; access to advanced AI and team features also varies.
Media hours measure imported or recorded material processed by Descript, not simply the duration of your final export. AI credits are a separate allowance. Check both against your production workload before choosing a plan.
